Course load and completion time depend on your prior-learning assessment. Some students need more than one year. University admission is always determined by each institution’s own requirements.

The requirements, stated plainly
To graduate with the OSSD you must complete
- The Ontario credit requirements for the diploma — your prior IGCSE study is assessed and credited where it qualifies, so most students complete the remaining courses in one year
- The Ontario Secondary School Literacy requirement
- 40 hours of community involvement, completed locally in Nairobi
- Attendance and participation in classes
One year. One diploma. University a year earlier.
